Could someone tell me what the orientation of the dual horns are on a '58.
Which side has the low and which side has the high. I know the wire gauges are different for each side so there must be a high for the right and low for the left or vise versa. By the way, these horns are replacements, not original. Thanks!
Thanks Larry! I received an email from Donald telling me the same thing. They are in and connected. Hope when I install the battery, the replacements work. Someday, I'll buy original. Getting real close to getting the '58 back on the road after four years.
David, Your comment that each horn has a different (size) gauge wire going to it struck me as somewhat of a revelation. I can think of no reason why that would be and apparently have never noticed this before. Am I confused or is this a reality I need to adjust to. DC
The '58 AIM wiring diagram shows a 16 gauge black wire to the right horn and a 14 gauge black wire to the left horn. This is also shown in this configuration on the large lamentated diagram from Letric Limited and the colored diagram that was posted on this site a while ago. Maybe it's a misprint on all three. I'd be interested in what you find out. My technical knowledge in this area is zero or less.
