    It's a Tonawanda block, and the photos are carefully posed so you can't see whether it has a front oil gallery access hole plug in it or not (which would have to be added to a Tonawanda casting). The klutz who stamped it didn't know the '57 pad stamp format, doesn't know the difference in casting date formats, and also didn't know there were no "EN"-code engines produced.

      Hey John, so I guess the block #3731548 is just a run-a-the-mill 1957 chev.

        Umm...didn't Flint use an "I" for "1"?
        (Al least that's what's on my F8I3EH block in the garage...)
