I ama soldier stationed in San Antonio texas and i am trying to restore 58 vette. I am trying to find a period correct engine...VIN J58S103048. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

By "period correct" are you looking for "numbers matching" (i.e. correct date code for the build date of your car)? If not I have a '58 shortblock but it's a little late for your car. Given your's is #3048 I would venture it was probably built around January. There used to be a "birthday calculator" on line on the Wisconsin NCRS site but my link to it doesn't seem to work any more. Hope this helps. Ted
