anyone know of a power steering conversation kit for a 62? i've heard they exist, but they seem to be as elusive as the Yeti or Sasquatch...

Try Cranes Corvette, www.cranescorvette.com. I don't personally know how well their conversion works as I have not used one, but they do advertise as having a conversion for c1 cars. Good luck, John

PS was never an option on the c-1 vettes BUT it was available in 53 and 54 chevy pass cars, the front suspension of both being very similar. if you were lucky enough to stumble across a 54-54 pass car with PS, i suspect one could fabricate the pass car unit to the c-1. why ya need PS? mikie

It's not too hard to install a R&P system in a C1, but you have to chop up the steering column or install a Flaming River replacement. You can use an electric PS pump mounted remotely and get around changing the engine mounts.
