I have a 1966 Coupe Small Block. I would like to find out if the nuts on the front alignment shim bolts had lock washers behind them or not. On Vettes I have looked at I have seen it both ways, with and without. Which is correct? Yes, I have an AIM, however the drawing is pretty fuzzy although it looks as though there were no lock washers. Thanks in advance.

Clark, I agree with the lock washers- it is the 67 that use the self locking
nuts without washers. Most suppliers send you the self locking nuts when you
order for 66. Robert
An interesting "tidbit": 1963 to sometime in 1966 used fine thread upper a-arm shaft retaining bolts with plain nuts and lockwashers. Sometime in 1966 through 1967 used fine thread bolts with a stover-type, self-locking nut. 1968-82 used coarse thread bolts with a stover-type, self-locking nut.
