My outside rear mirror on a has a bowtie But no date. Is this correct on a 1967 jan. 9 67 build date car? Thanks, Don

Donnely Mirror Inc usually has a date..... the other manufacturer I believe may not have.....I saw a 67 at the NCRS summit we judged that I recall had a very small Z if I recall in the glass and no date. It may be there but partially obscured by the retaining ring also....my May 11 built 67 has a Jan 67 date code and NO bowtie....flies in the face of the TIM&JG......Craig -

The 67 JG says that the bowtie was present on the mirror to VIN 8000 and through 10500 there are examples of bowtie and no bowtie mirror housings.
They must have made a lot of these mirrors at one time. My June 29, 67 (22049) has January 67 dated glass (1DMI7) has no bowtie on the outside but has a bowtie inside the housing.
