    Dealer Information

I'm hoping to find information for Dealer# 076 in the Cleveland Zone (#28)around 1970. Anyone know who this dealer might have been? I'm told that the dealership will probably begin with a "C" according to dealer number. Would like to see if anyone here has this information before going to Triple A. Thanks in advance!

    Re: Dealer Information

Stan; Might have been refed to "Jim Connell Chevrolet". They were in East Cleveland, Oh in the 50 &60's on Euclid Ave. He sold the dealership to Charlie Miller (Miller chevrolet)in early 70's, I think and then moved it out to Bishop Rd & I-90 (Euclid spur). He then went under and it was taken over by LaRich Chevy. They moved there from the Broadway/Miles area where they were an old line dealer for years earlier. Connell's the only Chevy dealer that comes to mind....Frank

      Re: Dealer Information

      Frank,

Thanks for responding to my post. From what I know at this point, the car spent most of its time on the west side (Parma Hts. and perhaps Strongsville)before being sold to the gentleman in Akron that I purchased it from. Supposedly, the car was sold used from Don's Brooklyn Chevrolet (used to be in Brookpark?) in 1973-74, but I have no information before this other than the dealer and zone numbers on the build order copy. At this point, it looks like I'll be contacting Triple A to see if they have the information for these codes... I'll let you know what I find out.

Do you happen to recall an Evans Chevrolet that was located in northern Ohio around that time? Had a bunch of COPO Camaros during 1969 and trying to locate any information that I can on these.

Thanks again for your help Frank!

      Regards,

Not sure if this is going to be a good source but you may want to check them out. In the Driveline there is always an ad for the company that makes reproduction stickers. Looking at their website I noticed on one of their stickers they list the dealer codes. Being in their business, and being authorized by the Big Three, I would think they have all the information re dealer numbers, codes, zones, etc. If you contact them, post your results on the board as there have been many people trying to find the same information you are looking for. Their website is window-sticker.com. Good luck! David

Stan; Sorry havn't been online for a couple of day's. EVANS Chevy was in the Painesville, Oh area. They were located on Rt 20 west of Painesville at Fairgrounds Rd. The building is still there but it has changed businesses many times. The Evans family lives in the Beachwood area or at last did 10 years ago. I'm not sure what happened to the dealer franchise. Maybe it's the one Jim Brown got when he started Classic chevy.....Frank
