    Re: C2 Seat Chrome Trim

Hi Dave, I just did my seats last winter, I opted to re-crome the original hockey sticks, I did order reproduction seat back trim, and found it to be garbage, I think I got it through Covette central,I then replated my original peices and they came out great.

I'm having my "stick" currently rechromed based on input from the board and the price wasn't that much more than the repros, about $70 each. I haven't sent the platers my chrome trim strips yet, mine need to be re-plated or replaced as well.

Dave - I had my '67 hockey sticks re-chromed in Jan. 04, and they came out great. I can't comment on repros, so I'd say to you have your originals re-chromed. Mine were $50 ea.

The thin chrome strip running up, across and down my seat backs had slight rust showing, and I used Never Dull, and that did a very nice job. I did not consider re-chroming this thin strip, since I don't show the car (for points) and the Never Dull made it look just fine for my liking.

You'll have to get others to give an opinion on the quality of repro thin seat-back chrome strips.

If you want details on my plater, pls. ask. I will tell you, sparkly re-chromed hockey sticks make a terrific difference.

          Dave,

If you buy repop sticks, they will come completely flat. You will notice your originals have a slight angular bend that fits the seat back better.

You will need to bend them to match the originals so the seat back will fold over properly.

            Thanks Tracy,

I think that I will have mine rechromed.
