    C-1 Wiring.. Coil, Distributer, Resister..

Have to attach wires from dist., coil, resister, and have forgotten where they all go.. Have checked my manuals and am not sure.. I have the ST-12, the Passenger car manual, etc. I don't want to make mistake, also is there a plus and minus side to the resister ?

    BTW - it's a 61 F.I. and I have added the fuel shut-off solinoid..

Boy do I feel STUPID..... Thanks, in advance, for all the help.....

    Jerry -

The resistor doesn't care which end is which. The ignition switch side of the resistor gets an 18-ga. brown wire that comes through the firewall from the ignition switch and the power wire from the wiper motor, and the other end gets two 18-ga. dark green wires (one goes to the coil +, the other to the "C" or "R" terminal on the starter solenoid). The (-) coil terminal gets the black wire from the distributor. I'm not an F.I. guy, but I think the fuel shutoff solenoid feed wire wants to be on the ignition switch side of the resistor so it gets ignition-switched 12V; if I'm wrong, someone will jump in and correct me.

John, that's right on the money, the shut off solenoid and the choke wire both go to the ignition side of the resistor. Run two separate wires directly to the ignition side. Don't try to piggyback them, as the amp draw is too high. Don't ask how I know.

        John & Ed...

Thank you both for the quick response.. It's a good feeling to know
that if we ask a simple question, like mine, or a very technical question
there will sure to be an answer forthcoming that is right on.

        THANKS GUYS..... Jerry.....

You might try looking at a C1 wiring diagram which says exactly what is verbalized in John's note. It would give you more confidence that you got it right. It's in the AIM.
