    Best route to take

Even though this is not really a "technical" question, the discussion board is probably the best place to get accurate information, so here goes. I will be traveling by car from central Kentucky to southeastern New York state this weekend and am uncertain of the best route, all things considered such as road construction, traffic, etc. Does anyone have any personal recommendations as to the best, most efficient route to take from Richmond, Ky to Poughkeepsie, NY? I have already done the Map Quest thing, but it sends me over several different roads and obviously there is no mention of rosd construction on the routes. So, all you adventurous souls, what is the best route? As always, thanks for your help. Rex

Go to each states DOT and you should be able call up a web page showing the construction areas.

I-78 in Pennsylvania between Harrisburg and New Jersey has delays due to construction.

if you have CAA or AAA

They wil print you trip map with up to date info on road construcition and in my taking weather into account.

I just did a little 12,100 kilometer jaunt. I used their route for the first half and my own for the return. They were accurate with all they told me and it worked out best I did the drive there with their route.

Microsoft streets & trips has a feature that uses the web to find construction sites and route appropriately for them.
