    correct freeze plugs-best source?

    doing Top Flight (at least shooting for) resto. seem to have everything on order down to the last shim and bushing...but can't seem to find listing in the big distributors catalogs for freeze plugs...Paragon doesn't list them, zip or ecklers I think has them but not correct....thanks as always for your assistance! always a wealth of info. Frank

    I puchased correct depth freeze plugs from my local Chevrolet dealer

      I'm not sure you'll find the "correct" ones so to speak. IIRC, the originals did not have markings on them, but replacements do. So, you can buy replacements anywhere, but either attempt to fill in the markings, or apply a lot of paint to them.

      Most people just use brass freeze plugs from the local auto parts store. There's nothing else fancy about them.

        Corvette Central has them in their catalog--and I've recently gotten a set from them.

          Moroso sells the brass expansion plugs. just glass bead them before installing the pups , otherwise the chevy engine orange won't stick. No logo's on theirs, per originals. mike
