C Window Felt Install

Do the staples go through the felt and into the door panel or under the felt on a 65? Mine had repro door panels that had the felt strip pop riveted in. Also, best way to install the new staples? Type of stapler to use would be helpful, too.

Mark: If you're just concerned about the rivet heads showing, here's an easy fix. Get some black velco from the sewing section at WalMart. Take a piece of the fuzzy side and punch out a circular piece. Peel off the backing and stick it onto the rivet head. Undetectable.

But if you are set on using staples, you'll have to drill the holes and hand bend the staples into place. Same method as installing the rubber flaps over the upper A-arms. Since it's hard to get the felt strip really snug this way, I'd probably glue it in place first with weatherstrip cement. Put in the staples the next day. Your choice
