    C2 Seat Oddity

Removed the driver's seat from my 65 today. I found something under the seat that obviously does not belong there. Anybody know what this is? Seat warmer? Ejection seat?

    Just curious. Thanks!

Thanks Roy! I never would have guessed that it was an alarm. I'll yank it out tomorrow.

            Brad's got it!.....

...Steven Segal loves plastic Zipstrips and C4 explosives, he's probably the previous owner!

Guess I'd better also check under the passenger seat before my next cruise, huh?

Don - I'd check every nook and cranny before the next cruise. Pete

I've got the same seat thing on my John Deere riding mower. If you leave the seat, the motor cuts off. I hate that!

that so us old folks don't get off with the blade running and cut off our toes.

Might the stuff inside the wrapping smolder if exposed to an open flame?

Not now! I yanked it all out this morning. Found the same set up under the passenger seat too. I thought I would hear something ticking at any moment! Removed the electrical tape from the cardboard and found a label "remote car alarm", just like the accessory guru Roy Braatz said.

Looks like the beam switches we installed in the seat cushions that were part of the famous Seat Belt Interlock system; if there was enough weight on the seat cushion to deflect and actuate the switch, the car wouldn't start unless that seat's belt was buckled. Another regulatory high-water mark

Remember you all need to get rid of any nasty GM accessories. Like the fire extinguish,But wait! GM did offer a mid- year one and NCRS gives out extra points for having one in any Corvette. So is a (GM dealer accessory) fire extinguish a NO !NO! TOO???? just asking!!!
