1963 wheel date code

Where would I find the date code on the rims for a 1963 Corvette. What would this date code look like? Also would like to know a web site that I could make a post for an engine block I need since I cannot do that here. I did read the rules :o).

David,

The date code is on the inside of the rim between the beads. When the tire is mounted, you can't see it. This picture is a 66 wheel, but the 63 used a similar stamping placement methodogy.

However, I have another question for the REAL experts.... I have seen both "63" and/or "3" for the year indication. Has anyone else seen this and does there seem to be a reason behind the differences?

Also, keep in mind that early cars would have "62" dates because production started during that year.

Yes, there is; the drawings specify "Identify per K-H Spec B-3723". No, I don't have that

I have a wheel with just a 6 for the month and date. Not sure if it is the month or year but since the wheel looks like an original (58-62)I would think its the month and that the year was not stamped in the wheel. I would guess, like engine stamp VIN's, there were mis stamped dates.

I have three 63 wheels I took off a 63 convertable way back in 72 up in Kansas. They are marked "63" and the month is a "2". The 63 font is smaller than the other stamping and are upside down compared to the wheels size stamp. The wheel size stamps and other markings look just like you pic.
Just thought I would throw it out there.
