C2- won't go over 5000 rpm

Hello All,
63 L84 fresh from rebuild won't go over 5000 rpm. Seems to be running lean, pipes are crackling for 5 minutes. sounds like trouble. How to enrichen a fuelie?

How was your FI calibrated?

In your shoes I would call the rebuilder and ask him the specs he used for his calibration before changing anything. After all, he may think the problem is in your ignition system and not injection related. If it is a problem caused by the injection calibration, then I'm sure the rebuilder would want to have a say in any adjustments.

Some people still believe you can properly set the enrichment lever stop positions with a vacuum gauge without running the unit on an engine. Of course, this is not true. You must first set the stop positions to provide the right nozzle discharge pressures under certain running conditions. Only then do you use a vacuum gauge to set the length of the enrichment lever rod.

The stop positions determine nozzle pressure (air/fuel ratio) under high and low intake vacuum conditions. The rod length determines WHEN the unit will provide a rich mixture for acceleration or heavy load.
