Re: C3 ... Need advice for a sad day
If I needed to sell a collectable car.I would sell it on it ebay with an honest description of the car and 100 pictures to help some one make an easy decistion. Ebay is a great place to sell as it reaches many buyers.
If I needed to sell the car in a hurry and did not want to deal with strangers at my home,or just answering question from dreamers.I would then offer the car up to one of the Big Vette dealer we often hear so many bad things about.Allthough most willl pay you less then a private sale. They come with a trailer and pay you on the spot.
If you are more concerned with a good home and time is on your side,Place an advertizement in the NCRS driveline.
Good luck.- Top

Re: C3 ... Need advice for a sad day
You need more photos. LOTS more photos. Inundate with pictoral information.
Engine bay, interior, undercarriage if possible.
If I was looking, I'd pick an ad with 10 photos over one with 1 photo any time.
Also, make the photos larger so they will open up to at least 6-8 inches horizontally when we click on them.
Hope that helps,

PS
Find a background that contrasts with your green car to make it stand out. A nice office building or similar would be nice. It gets lost in the green grass.

Re: C3 ... Need advice for a sad day
I have looked at several cars, in person, that I have initially seen on line. In most cases, the photos make the car look better than it is. Patrick is dead on with the photos and description. Too many photos and too much information is better than one photo of a green car with grass in the background. Contrast with the background as well as having good light is the key to good photos. Frame a picture so that the car fills the entire frame. Then do close ups of each body panel; left front, head on, right front, etc. Again, position your car so that you have a good source of sunlight and take photos of the interior, including closeups, etc. You can create a very simple web site with your photos stored on it and include a link at Collector Car Trader. For instance, I use Comcast and I can store several mb of photos for free. Believe me, if I can put photos on a site, so can you.

Re: C3 ... Need advice for a sad day
One caveat: sunlight works well for pics of the outside of the car, provided you move it around so you always take pics of the sunny side. However, an overcast day works better for the engine bay so you don't get harsh shadows of everything.

Re: C3 ... Need advice for a sad day
Under options on this car, the ONLY options for this car would be Pwr Steering and Tilt/telescopic column. Every other item is STAMDARD for a coupe in this year. When I read ads that are not written well, I start wondering how good could this car really be?
Just some constructive opinions. I tend to really pay attention to a well written and laid out ad, usually shows that the owner is conscience of what he has and is selling.- Top

Re: C3 ... Need advice for a sad day
Well, the LS-5 was an option too, as was the radio.

Re: C3 ... Need advice for a sad day
LS-5 (454/365HP), auto, Brandshatch Green on very nice black interior.
Show some pictures of the interior. Make one overall from each side, then some closer with details.
Mostly original engine bay,
Same thing on pictures. If you are claiming original, then be sure the pictures show original components, and especially the stamp pad.
excellent chrome, stainless, exhaust, glass, Owner history, order sheet, POP, PS, 3:08 posi, luggage rack, rallys, Lots of factory correct components including the spare, jack, shielding, and air cleaner.
Pictures, pictures, pictures. One solution some do is to post pictures on Shutterfly, Village Photos, and other photo sites. Others create a web page and then include not just pictures, but longer and more detailed descriptions. This works well to list work done, part numbers, RPO numbers, VIN plate, trim plate, etc.
Some places on eBay go overboard, with 100 pictures, because they often repeat what is shown or they show such little detail, the picture is worthless. Try to have an overview picture of an area, then a few detailed pictures.
For example, have a shot from the right of the entire engine bay, from wiper door to just past the hood hinges. Then go for detailed shots: 1 - ignition shielding and such; 2 - valve cover, intake, carb, and exhaust; 3 - stamp pad; pulleys, belts, AC; and then repeat on the other side.
Take pictures of what you would check if you were getting ready to lay down $30,000 on a car you can't see.- Top
