Resto. of Survivor Carb.-how far?

resto of survivor carb how far john mikell i have a survivor which needs a carb rebuild how far should i go meaning that i see carb resto services to concours ncrs standards and everything in between is this a bad idea if the car is a survivor or is it ok does not affect value as a survivor when fixing rebuilding maintaining things to take them back to as new thanks

re resto of survivor carb how far j wright hi john i had the same dilema re a that still had inspection paint marks on it and the red rochester stamp on the left side when i took it to the carb shop the carburetor works see hemmings in corvett parts section under carburetors i told them exactly what i wanted done that i did not want anything external to be replated only cleaned they did exactly as i had requested and while the carb does not look like it has never been out of the car it retains all of the characteristics of an original unmolested piece if that is what you want talk to the shop make sure that they know what you want and if they are willing and able to follow your instructions i would feel comfkortable doing it that way again
