For 1958: I need some tips or an article explaining how to go about replacing the stainless window surround frame and the window tape. Thanks, Ken

Ken, it is really pretty simple. The tape wraps around the window glass so that the overlaps are even on both sides. The stainless generally goes back on over the tape pretty easily. If you want you could put a little soap and water to create a lube around the tape so that the stainless will slide on better if you are having problems. Fairly intuative.

If you have too much tape showing around the edge you can alway carefully trim with a utility knife.

I bought an 18" clamp with rubber ends at the hardware store. It really makes it simple to reassemble the glass.
