1962 windshield washers

Hi All.

I'm getting a little confused about my windshield washers. I just got the hoses in the mail.I'm ready to hook everything up. I just realized, how do you activate the washers? On my wiper switch all I see is a little vacuum tube and the shaft the knob goes on. The knob only turns to activate the wipers. It does not do anything else.I noticed in a parts catalog,they have 2 kinds of knobs.One with just a set screw and one with a push button.Is the push button the one that works the squirters? Are all the wiper control cables the same or do I have the wrong one.Please help me and tell me how the squirters work.

Mine has a push button to work the washers.

The push button in the center of the knob is supposed to activate the squirters.

I believe all the button does is release or trigger some vacuum.

I've been around C1s for 30+ years, and I've never seen one work.
