I am replacing the clutch and flywheel on my 58 driver - removing many "Bubba was here" signs at the same time - and have an aluminum bellhousing
# 3764591 . Can someone please tell me whence it came ? I know that is a silly question as I read the NCRS Board all the time.
The GM casting #3764591 bellhousing was originally used for 1960 Corvette. It was also used for 1960 passenger cars with high performance and special high performance 348 cid engines. Those were the only applications of this bellhousing. It is quite a rare bellhousing and sought after by 1960 Corvette restorers needing one.
Joe and Patrick -Thank you.
I can't get over your depth of knowledge and your willingness to share it.
As I said my 58 is a driver so if you know anybody that needs or wants it I am more than happy to part with it. It has been sand blasted and painted but there are no cracks or welds and all the threads are good.
