Actually, in the passenger compartment, environment, the tin is very resistant to oxidation. In the engine compartment the connections are sealed so corrosive elements are kept out. Air Bags are just a Bomb waiting to go off, so extra precautions are used.

I had amp problems on my 90 coupe. After a less than successful attempt to repair the amps, I just went to Bose and got new ones. They were very reasonably priced. I'm thinking they were about $75 each.

As I recall, I had to contact Bose to get a repair authorization number so I could send in my old amps. Bose then decided that they were not worth repairing, and sent me new amps. FYI: The 1990 amps have the wiring connection soldered to the amps. The amps I got back from Bose were the 1991 and later style with a separate wiring connection. Bose included that with the new amps.

Apparently, I do have 90 amps since the connections are made with pig-tails soldered directly to the boards. At $75 each, that's cheaper than the repair places that I seen advertised. At the moment, I'm trying to figure out how to remove the front amp/speaker assemblies without damaging something. Thanks, Don

I am waiting to hear from Bose now about the amp and speaker repair for my 85.
