White wall cleaner works good, but keep it rinsed off the paint unless you want a custom streaked paint job.

Over the years I have used Comet and a scrub brush on several white convertible tops with plenty of water. I usually do this in bright sunshine and have had good results.

Believe it or not I have used Westley's Bleach White tire cleaner. You must keep the body WET while using it.

            Brian,

I was wondering the same thing. I have a white top on black paint, so I don't want to use anything that might leave streaks on the paint. I've had the car just a couple of months now, and never tried cleaning the top. Let me know if you find something you're happy with...

Rob, I've cleaned my 66 Impala's white top with Westley's about 4 times over the last 20+ years with no problems. You could also use wet towels on the body if it really scares you, but it makes that top look new.

                Brian,

Does it make the top whiter than it was originally, or just clean it and return it to its' original color? I guess, what I mean is so I have to clean the whole top to avoid seeing the areas I used it on...

You must clean the whole top. It will make it look like new. FYI I have never "dressed" my top after cleaning.

I agree with Brian, do not "dress" a white top. If you use Westley's, use it on the entire top or it will look splotchy. Once I have the top looking good, I only use Comet and scrub brush. The most important thing to remember is to keep painted surfaces wet. Good luck/
