What have you all found to be the best way to fill small to moderate rust pits in the frame and suspension pieces prior to painting? Thanks.

Re: Repairing Pitted Suspension Parts
Hi Greg
When I was restoring my car I found after sanblasting the frame, some pits. I used an epoxy that bonds to metal. After sanding and painting it, it looks good.No problems. I don't remember the kind I used, it was 7 years ago. But go ask at a body and paint supply store. I'm sure they can help you.

Greg: Get yourself some "Slick Sand" or "Poly-Prime" catalyzed polyester primer. Spray it on, let it cure for 24 hours, then block sand it out. Fills pits great. Much easier than trying to butter all the pits up with a glazing compound by hand.- Top

Depending on the depth of the pits the catylized primer/filler may not work by itself unless you continue to build it up. I used Evercoat final filler followed by a sprayed on catylized primer/filler and topcoated with Rustoleum.
