1958; Rear suspension is very squeeky after resto. Had leafs apart and painted. Replaced with new (original style from CC)liners and poly bushings. I did not lube any of these during assembly. Suggestions welcome, however I do not want to take it all apart. Someone local suggested Zep's teflon spray lube. Thanks, Ken

Re: squeeky leafs
Hi Ken
If I were you,I would start by spraying teflon or a lube spray on the bushings only.Get it in there real good. Then you can see if thats where the squeak is coming from. If it is, then you have a choice of either spraying it all the times it squeaks or put in the rubber bushings and be done with it.

Re: squeeky leafs
Ken,
If you determine that the source of the squeek is the spring, there was a tip on one of the cable TV car shows that might work. It sounds messy, but here is the tip.
They used their hands to work chassis grease into the spring from each side. Next, they wrapped the spring with duct tape and said to drive the car for approximately two weeks before removing the tape and wiping the excess grease from the spring.
Hope I never have to use the procedure, but that was their method of lubricating the spring.
Good luck.

Trivia - that's what Rolls-Royce did in the 20's and 30's - they coated the entire leaf spring with grease, then enclosed it in a closely-fitted stitched leather "boot" to keep it from rusting or squeaking- Top
