    C2 Door Panels

    Dear Members,

I have a chance to get some used door panels for my 67 coupe. I hear the fit of new panels isn't so hot. I asked Al Knoch about reskinning for a new color and they don't offer this service. I bet Just Dashes offer this service, but probably not worth the money.

2 years ago I did some arm rests and door panels for a '69 280SL conv. that came out great with Sem rattle can paint. Anyone else tried this before? Thanks!

What color? Black works well, I'd hate to try the doors with the "mottled" shades from the factory.

Justin; a queston re: Just Dashes

      Justin,

Do you have any knowledge of the quality of restoration work by Just Dashes? I was thinking of replacing the (black) door panels on my 66 coupe with repro panels from Al Knoch, but in looking at my original panels, they don't look so bad, with just 1 or 2 mall tears on each panel. Is this something that Just Dashes could restore to look as-new?

      Thanks,

      Gary

        C2 Door-Bill and Gary

Thanks for the help guys! Bill, I'm using the Sem Super/White because the regular White is too bright. I've had to spray a few parts because I had my seats re-done in white leather and it is a touch brighter than original, or original is quite faded?

Gary, Jush Dashes does great work, but quite pricey! They can almost any urethane pieces that fit in the machine. It's a vacuum process, like the wheel caps, gas door emblems, and steering wheel centers we used to make at the Mustang manufacturer. Very cool to watch.

I had door panels restored by JUST DASHES a few years ago. Before i sent them i called and was assured of a first rate job. IN short, they made a mess of them. They were significantly thicker and some of the contour was gone. When i called to announce my displeasure, they told me that was the best they could do and they would not accept them if i shipped them back.I would never deal with them again.

that is because that is all they do, is JUST DASHES it is not JUST DOOR PANELS. I dont even think they do that good of job on the dashes, with them also real thicker than OEM.
