    c2 c3 Diff snubber

After having replaced the Diff snubber mount area in my car, Cracked and damaged, I notice that the front mount is not lining up well. The 1 5/16 dia raised portion of the top rubber will not seat in the hole, the diff is too far ahead. I dropped the diff crossmember on to longer bolts and tried to jack it back a touch but it wasn't anxious to move.
What size of bolt is correct for the snubber bolt anyway? I used a huge 5/8 dia to attempt to line things up a bit better. But I am sure the rubber is not seated in the top correctly.
I did post on this before but I have it back together now. It bugs me when things don't go together as designed.

    Frank-----

The "snubber" bolt, originally GM #454949, is a 7/16-14 X 2-3/4" SAE grade 8 bolt.

Thanks Joe, I wonder why the hole all the way through is 5/8" dia?
