    Tire rub C2

I have a 66 with factory Ac. AC cars have an access plate in the driver's side wheel well for battery access. My 205 75 R15 tires just scrub on left hand turns on the access plate. The access plate has a relief "bubble" that projects into the fender well area approx 3/4" to provide clearance for the battery behind it.

Do similarly equipped cars have this tire rub? Is there a fix other than "big hammer"?

A lower profile tire. The 75 series is what is getting yu to hit. If you had a 70 series, you might gain enough clearance. Only problem is, 70 on front and 75 on rear would look funny. And 70 on rear will begin to throw the speedometer off.

The hammer won't fix it, it is fiberglass, no dents - breaks.

215/70R-15 has the same specified revs/mile as the OE 7.75-15, so there is no loss of speedometer accuracy.
