C3 (72)seat deck lid bumpers

Could some one tell me if all convertables came with the bumpers that attach to the rear deck lid to protect it from the seat. If so were can I get some origanals. Thank you Rob

The bumpers to which you refer were added in early 1972 production. I would estimate that they were probably added about late September to early October, 1971. However, it's VERY easy to tell if your car originally had the bumpers irrespective of my estimates. If there are holes in the deck lid for the mounting, then your car had the bumpers. If there are no holes, then your car never had them. That's assuming, of course, that your deck lid is original to the car, but in about 99.5% of the cases, it will be. These are rarely replaced. If your car has no holes, I would not add them regardless of what anyone says is "correct".

Joe thank you, There is holes there, thay have tape over them. Looks like the person who painted the car coverd the holes. Any idea were I can get an original set. Also is there a discription of them some were so I do not get the wrong ones. Rob

The bumpers are still available from GM under the original part number of GM #6263557.
