Rebuilding a Carter AFB. Took it all apart. Let it soak in lacquer thinner for over a week. The aluminum parts don't look very nice when they come out of the lacquer thinner soak. Dull, mottled, and still dirty. But put one of them in a weak muriatic acid solution, and they come out looking brand new. I've only done this so far with the smaller pieces. Is there any reason why I shouldn't dip the whole body in the acid solution? I've stripped the whole body of parts with the exception of the throttle shafts and valves. (Next question will be how to get them off.)
