I have two different license light lenses for my 67, both of which I believe were made by GM. I'd like to hear from some experts regarding which style was originally installed by the factory.
In the photo below, I think the upper style with the "bumps" in the perimeter of the gasket surface is what was installed by the factory. While this particular lens is probably a reproduction, it's design exactly matches the very old and damaged lens that was in my unrestored license lamp.
The lower lens in the photo is from a GM service replacement lamp assembly. The service replacement assembly has the same part number shown in the AIM (898005), but there are other differences from the original design such as the bulb socket and the gasket color. Based on this, I don't think I can assume that the lens in the service replacement matches the original.
Does anyone know which design is correct for 1967?
