I am planning to go to Carlisle in August and am wondering if I can get in on Thursday without vendor credentials. Last year I arrived early Friday morning only to find that the owner of a 58 I was very interested in had sold the car to a well known Ohio dealer the night before.

10 to 20 % of the vendors arrive wed . some unload. friday way too late for deals. no other shocks. mikeComment

Was the "well-known" Ohio dealer Terry M? Ive been watching him scoop up '58s with regularity these days... I think '58s will be the next '67 market.Comment

Yes, It was and from his prices on 58's it looks like he believes that they are the next 67's. I can't blame him in this case. He actually overpaid for the car and ended up having it in inventory for a very long time.Comment

I think you are right. I was shopping for a '58 the last 2-3 years and was surprised at his overpaying on '58's. It occurred to me he was cornering and setting the market on this unique year, much like the dealers have done on the '67s. It will be interesting to watch develop.Comment
