    C2 Fuel Line Replacement

On my '63 it appears that someone has run a new and separate fuel line from the tank to the front of the vehicle. It runs along side of the chassis not through it. Not knowing better, I need to assume that the original had a leak or was in some other manner defective. The original line appears to be in place, at least at the rear of the vehicle.

Can I replace the original fuel line, front to back, with the body on the car?? I see where I can get the parts, but the real question is what do I need to d to replace it??

    Thx. Joel

    Joel,

Unfortunately you can't replace the fuel line with the body on the car. It will have to be lifted up off of the frame in order to install the rear section of the fuel line into the kick up portion of the frame rail. The remaining portion of the fuel line runs along the top of the right side fuel line and is held in place with clips.

    Best Regards,

      James,

Thanks for the information! That's what I was afraid of!! The good news is that the replacement line appears to be fairly new, and stainless steel!

      Regards,

      Joel

        You can, But

You will have to cut the line just below where the line exits the frame in the kick up. The rear portion can be threaded thur the frame. It isn't easy, and the line must be bent and worked thru the frame. A rubber gas line re-joins the two pieces. The front portion can follow the normal route. Needless to say, it isn't as pretty as with the body off, but for non-show car, it works fine. Worked for my 66.
