I have been reading the Grenning/Sinor book about trim tags and still have some confusion. It seems that A.O.Smith bodies didn't provide all the information that St.Louis bodies did so that there is room for doubt regarding originality of some interior features. For example there seems no clear way, from trim tag information, to tell if a A.O.Smith bodied car originaly came with head rest seats, power windows, and some other options that were spelled out with St.Louis bodies through their exception codes.
A related question has to do with side-pipes. Although the car in question doesn't have side-pipes, I seem to remember hearing that only one supplier made bodies with side-pipes. Any truth to that impression?
