I'm looking at the Aluminized Exhaust System Kits that Corvette Central puts out to replace my original 67 system, and cherry bombs put on in the 80's. I'm thinking about the deluxe kit with the heat riser, hangers and extensions with it.
Has anyone had good or bad luck with this system. Is this the closest I'm going to come back to original at a reasonable price?

As far as close to original, Corvette Central told me they can supply the original, carbon steel pipes on request. Other suppliers will only offer the aluminized or stainless. Allen's once told me they do not offer the original steel pipes, but perhaps they have changed their options by now.
I too am looking for some original type side pipes that sound original as well. I have not purchased them yet but have found a possible set from Sweet Thunder. On their website they cliam that these are original sounding side pipe and I think they are Carbon steel as well but do not quote me.
On my 72, the CC system results in a 50% deduction for originality as it is aluminized. You can opt for the carbon steel system if you wish but unless you were only using it for judging I would not do that. It will rust in short order.
I've used the CCentral system on two cars and have been very pleased.

I'll admit that that's a little older shot, but I'm not done yet.
Here's another shot:
Notice the ski rack, ......on the car I mean, mounted onto a 1968 luggage rack.
Also the trailer hitch, and the "Happiness is Being Single" license frames. And the picture was taken just after I removed the chains.
I had had the rear end raised so that I could put chains on it. The hike is now gone with the new suspension, as well as the trailer hitch. This was when I was single, and the lady in the picture and I are both happily married, ...to someone else. (Geez, I'm glad my wife doesn't get on this forum).
But considering that my original mufflers only lasted a little over two years, and the pipes are rusted down to inner layer, I might go for the aluminized system.
I forgot you DRIVE your Vette! Great pictures and you have a great car with plenty of stories to tell. Yea that one was a fox for sure but how could she resist you in that Corvette.
