I'm rebuilding my fuel pump and noticed in the'63 shop manual that the depiction is labeled a " six cylinder pump" with 2 internal springs, larger and smaller diameters(an outer and an inner). The rebuid kit I have has only one spring included.I also looked at the '66 chasis manual which shows only a single spring. Any help on which is the correct configuration?

Re: 63 fuel pump
Hi Jim -
I too have wondered about that "6-cylinder" term in the Shop Manual and figured it was probably just a typo. Anyhow there is only one pump for '63 that I'm aware of - #4657 (5594657). It should be stamped into the flange area and have AC on the top. Obviously, the one in the 1963 SM is correct.
I bought an AC repair kit many years ago for mine (AC #R467 5622175), and this probably is no longer available, I suspect. But I kept all the parts from the rebuild in there. So I've dug it out. I see the Diaphragm Spring (#5) and the Rocker Arm Return Spring (#2), but no Seal Spring (#9) in the box. This tells me that there was no replacement for #9 in the kit, and I re-used the original seal spring.
