While we seem to be on the subject of date coding midyear wheels I would like to gather a little information on the 67 rally type wheels. There seems to be one or two, maybe more codes correct for 67. DC or DG. Any of you that have these wheels laying arround w/o tires on them that you can check post your findings. Check for the code and the date. Please make absolutely sure that you do not post a DG as being a DC. Many times the tail of the G, or the C for that matter, hangs off the edge of the curvature and is not completely formed. Please do not post anything that is not completely formed. Also note that some DCs have been noted with smaler stampings. If small note that also. Thanks

Re: 67 Rally Wheels
Wayne,
I happened to have my spare 67 rally wheel bare without the tire. The wheel rim I have appears to be a DC. It's stamped with the full "D", but only the lower half of the "C" is stamped and showing. The "C" has no tail like the "G" would. The only other markings on the front of the wheel are in the center and they are the usual "GM" and "KH".
I don't find any stamped markings on the backside of the wheel but there are a few on the "inner" wheel (the part that would be inside when the tire is mounted). Those are 4 different individual stampings, all near and within 1/2" of each other. The "group" of them are almost 180 degrees opposite of the side of the wheel from the valve stem hole.
The first stamping reads 15X6 JK.
The second stamping contains the name / words "KELSEY U.S.A. HAYES". It is worded in an over-under curved and circular-type stamping, about 1/2" in diameter. The name "KELSEY", which forms the upper 1/2 of the circle, is barely readable on mine. There may or may not be something stamped in the middle with the "U.S.A." which is above the name "HAYES" and forms the bottom of the circlular-type stamping.
The third stamping is a oval, about 1/2" in diameter, and divided into unusual segmented parts. Mine has the number "8" stamped inside one of the divisions.
The fourth stamping is what appears to be a year / date "66". That stamping uses very noticably, very small number-characters, and they are about 1/3 the size of the characters in the other stampings. The "66" is near the 15X6 JK and is stamped at a crooked angle. I suppose it could signify a "99" but that wouldn't make much sense.
