Is this a suitable replacement? The boost and master cyclinder on my car came off of ....who knows, not a vette.

Re: C2 66 BB brake power boost
Bill-----
It's hard to say what the quality of this unit is. However, the configuration looks correct to me. I would not be surprised if this was the generally available reproduction unit that's come on the market in the last few years. I would be surprised if there was more than 1 manufacturing source for these. However, it's possible there is. It seems that very often there will arise a "far east" source for reproductions which also have a US manufacturing source. For some reason, they don't seem to have fear, at all, that the market size won't support more than one manufacturing source. They just "plunge into" the market. However, I want to be perfectly clear that I have no idea, at all, the origin of this unit. Even if it is a "far east" reproduction, that does NOT automatically make it bad. I've seen a LOT of very high quality stuff come out of the far east. I might not like the idea of it, but I can't fault the quality in many cases. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: C2 66 BB brake power boost
Bill - I just bought a core at Bloominton for a friend that has a 66 PB car. For 66, the tab on the booster at the 10 o'clock position has 7011 for the part number (last four digits). The tab at 2 o'clock has a 2 digit stamping such as 115, 118, etc ( I saw a couple at the show). Someone also had a NOS unit there with 8028 has the last four digits on the 10 o'clock tab position.....not sure what this application is but the 66 calls for the 7011. We are planning to send this unit to Steve Gregori at brakeboosters for restoration. The repro units are close but visually different from what I saw at the show. For one thing, the "dent" on the top center of the can between the two mounting ears on the top is visually completely different and discernable from originals. I also saw some repro sources actually stamped "Deloco-Morraine" on the front, but orginals don't have this. Maybe Delco made replacement units for a period and this was a resotored service part I saw....not sure. Anyway....all of this is moot if you just want a functional booster. On the cert field this weekend I saw mostly oringail restored units, one or two cars had repops.....Craig- Top
