I've noticed what's left of a foil type sticker/label on my P/S reservoir. I've owned the '73 for almost twenty years and never replaced this piece. Any ideas what this sticker reads or if anyone reproduces it? As well, I'm looking for a front sway label, any ideas on repros? Thanks, Tim 26883

Re: '73 P/S Sticker
Tim----
I am not aware of any foil-type label ever used on this component by GM. In fact, GM used foil type labels very sparingly. A/C compressors, aluminum radiators, big block valve cover, and air cleaner cover are about the only ones that I can think of. And, all of these were very visible to the CUSTOMER'S eyes. Usually, labels on a component like the power steering pump, if there were any at all, would be limited to a small, paper label with a 2 or 3 alpha-character "broadcast code". This was the code that the assembly plant worker used to select the correct piece for the car. That's where their usefulness to GM ended, so they usually took no great pains to make sure that they were "fancy" or durable. I suspect that this label you have, especially if it is somewaht "large", is a rebuilder's label. Perhaps, some previous owner replaced the pump, notwithstanding the fact that you've owned the car for a long time.
As far as the front sway bar goes, as far as I know, these bars are not being reproduced. Used ones are relatively plentiful, though. Although you won't find the part numbers on anything but an NOS bar, the original part number for your bar if you have a standard suspension 350 was GM #334930. ZO-7s used GM #3831972 and big blocks used 3871318.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
