Any legitimate bargins at Bloomington this year?

Mostly interested in the parts swap arena as my budget tends to limit my fantasy expenditures to small things...

But again, if you saw anything noteworthy sell at auction or in the car corral I'd get a kick out of it too just like the rest of us.

Bought a NOS MA-6 dual plate clutch assembly w/special flywheel for '69. Bought a NOS Borg & Beck clock assembly in box for '68-'71.

I picked up a very nice rust free 64/65 non FI rad support for $225. It was marked NOS but it had some paint chips from mishandling. I repainted it and looks perfect now. It was the only one I found and I picked it up for $225. I thought that was a pretty good bargain. I also picked up a 65/66 restored original power antenna $775 - not such a great bargain but a hard to find part. I also thought there was a pretty good deal on a nice set of 5 original 65 knock offs for $4k. But when I came back about an hour later they were gone.

Had a great time but the pickins were pretty slim for original parts. The highlight was the cars. Found my dream car a 65 gold certified red FI. While I was drooling over the car, a couple of guys walked up. One of them actually looked at the other, pointed to the FI unit and asked, "what's that thing on top of there?" The other responded "dunno".

Tracy, bargains? I didn't see many during the two days that I was there. Swap meet was the worst I have seen. Many spaces were vacant yet they said it was sold out.

However, I was thrilled to see some of the auction activity. I have an original Arctic Blue '56 that I am freshening up for next years 50th NCRS national and BG. There were three Arctic Blues go through the auction line. Two were '56s and one was a '57. After the original 2,290 mile '56 went through and sold for $163K the other one that had failed to sell at $74K earlier in the day ended up going for $87K that evening. The '57 bid to $86K and didn't sell but did not go through for a second time. Another '56 Aztec Copper bid to I think it was $79K but didn't sell to a reserve of $90K. It was the nicest of the four cars but I think the color may have held it back. I feel much better about the money I am putting back into my car now because hopefully there will be some wiggle room on the upside.

I found a set of 58 trunk spears for $150.00. Could have been the buy of the meet. Also 13 protect-o- plate for $2.00 ea.
