I'd like to verify the integrity of the small off white wires that run from the T.I. pick up coil to the T.I.harness. It seems this wire is NOT reproduced and you can only get it with a new pick up coil....very expensive. While searching for one at Bloomington I met a man with an NOS coil for sale. He said I should check the wires for between 500 to 700 ohms with an ohm meter. My ohm meter does not seem to register properly....it only shows 1....when I touch the two probes of the ohm meter to the two inside terminals in the connector which plugs into the T.I harness. Can anyone offer any suggestions.....thanks.

Re: 67 T.I. Distributor
Rick - I think the 500-700 ohm range is correct if I recall. I would get a known resistance and check your meter first ( a small resistor would do in that range from an electronics supply house). You don't mention if you have a functional problem, but your reading would indicate an internal short of the wound coil, and this would fail to trigger the igniton. You may find more diagnostic information on Dave Fiedlers TI specialty website...Craig
