just put rebuilt single four back on 57 car after replacing all fuel lines and putting a additional inline filter before pump, carb. had to taken apart cause had some rust particles in carb. and would not start my (?) is I have gas up to and thru pump so when I restart car for first time do I need to put a litle gas maybe in front two barells of carb. or just pump carb. to set choke and start engine, don't want to screw this up we guess rust came from old lines that is only area not re;lace but i put in extra filter anyway thanks

I'd put 3 or 4 ounces of gas in the float bowl through one of the bowl vent tubes that stick out into the primary venturis - that way it'll fire right up without extensive cranking to fill the lines and then the float bowl. I do that on each of my cars in the spring to wake them up from their 6-month winter hibernation, as the fuel evaporates from the bowls over the winter.
