I think the Unionized labor of that era was great.

I'd like to have that full trailer in the background.

Mike, don't really think it's raining----I think that is a favorite trick of photographers to wet down the surface under the vehicles.

            IMHO

I see a trailer of Corvettes in the background. Of course...this can represent only one assembly plant since St Louis was a campus of buildings. Anyone know which one this would represent?

The Fisher Body and Chevrolet passenger/truck assembly plants were together in one large complex of buildings joined together (the "big" plant, which is what you see in the background), and Corvette was a separate small building in one corner of the property, behind the powerhouse that supported the complex (including the old "shell plant" where they made howitzer shells).

The Corvair trucks (Corvan, Rampside, Greenbrier, etc.) were built manually in a separate line way up on the 7th floor of the main plant - many people didn't even know it was there.

The "big plant" was on that corner, and the Mill was behind it, further west along Natural Bridge road.

                            John,

I've been trying to find it in aerial views. Try the link below, see if that looks correct.

Didn't they tear it down? I thought I remember stories of it being demolished.

I don't see the Chevy dealer that was across the street from it. They interestingly received the last Corvette convertible, in 1975, white with red interior. Then Chevy made them again in '86.

I think the L-shaped building should be where it was. The white cross-shaped building is the corner of Natural Bridge and Union.

The big square black building to the upper left is new, I think, and throws this all off.
