How do you remove the headrests from the seats in a 1969 Corvette?

Pull. Hard.
There is a small tab on one side of the headrest post that retains it in the channel of the seatback. I can't recall off the top of my head which side it's on, but I think it's on the passenger side of the headrest post. When you reach the top of the travel, pull up hard and slightly to the passenger side. If that doesn't free it, pull toward the drivers side.
