    Rear Bow Gap on '61

While dry fitting a new repop convertible top frame before I mount the canvas, I noticed that there is a large gap between the rear bow and body on both sides near the pivot bolt (just behind the door gap). Even with the mounting brackets set to the lowest position (which makes my side window fitment miserable) there is still enough room to fit a finger underneath. I know that the canvas will add some thickness when installed, but I can't imagine that the gap will close enough for the weatherstripping to rest on the body.

Am I missing something or is this normal bad fit to be expected?

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Mike,
Do you have the filler weatherstrip in that area? It has a metal strip with two screws that attaches it behind the weatherstrip that seals the rear of each door window. It then "L-shapes" to fill that gap behind the door and under the ear bow for the first 5 inches or so.
