I already bought a "R59 Energizer-12V-Delco" (add acid) From Restoration Battery. From those of you who have one do they leak acid or underpowered?? What is your experience with them? I should have asked before I bought it. I heard some negitive comments about them from a mechanic. Thanks, Don
Don, I've had a restoration battery in my 69 for the past 4 yrs, it has been flawless. I use a disconnect switch and keep it on a battery minder type trickle charger. Tom
Had a resto battery; after about three years it died. Have since owned a diehard for about ten, in same conditions, with no problems. I don't know if there are other Delco alternatives that judge well?
I am currently on my second Tartop in my '62 in about 12 years. In the same time, I have replaced two "non Delco-Sealed" batterys in my wife's 72 Olds 442, so I don't see the issue with reproduction battery life as compared to "normal" batterys.
Like any other reproduction product, there are some good ones and some bad ones. I bought a correct tar top for my '57 and it lasted a little over a year. I bought another and it has been just fine for over 5 years.
