P/S pump...

I am trying to seperate my P/S pump from the reservoir. The two haven't been apart in 30+ years and the big "O" ring at the front of the pump is bonded to the reservoir case. Anybody got a good method of seperating the two without damaging the reservoir. Have a fine 4th and thanks for any advise! Bill

GOT IT!!!!

I removed the pully, stuck the pump nose in a vice and carefully rotated the reservoir back the forth till the "O" ring gave up. Have a safe/happy forth! Bill

Now the fun begins. I've never been successful at getting them to seal back up on the first shot. Good luck.

Bill,

I was going to recommend a cutting torch...but you did say "without damaging the reservoir".

When are you going to be back in town for a visit?
