John------
Apparently, there's a difference between PRODUCTION and SERVICE parts for this application. First of all, I can't find any indication that either the 3961585 or the 3969630 were ever available in SERVICE. So, they must have been PRODUCTION-only pieces.
The only reference that I can find for the GM #1993388 is as a group 4.057 "transmission throttle control switch". It was used for many 1967+ applications with THM. Also, the GM #3924410 bracket was used in conjunction with this switch, apparently for Q-Jet applications.
1969-published GM SERVICE parts information for Camaro, Chevelle, and Chevy II applications shows the GM #3967426 bracket and GM #3940917 clamp as being the "carburetor idle control solenoid bracket" and "carburetor idle control solenoid bracket clamp" for all 1969 SHP 396 and 427 applications with THM-400. The same parts information shows the GM #1114421 as being the "carburetor idle control solenoid" for all 68-69 applications.
I know not the reasons for the differences but it may well be that the PRODUCTION and SERVICE parts were different. It would be very interesting to find out what differences, in addition to the ones you describe, existed between the parts.
