Just returned from a small town car show(200 cars)where my wife won again with her 1960 VW Bug. I have more in chrome on my '56 than she has in her entire car, and, she keeps reminding me of that!!!! Anyway.....in my quest to sort out whether there were bezels on the dash knobs, I found no 56 or 57 cars at the show, but did see a 59 and 60 that had some bezels around several of the knobs. OK......my owners manual shows no bezels except on the radio....is this correct for a f56 or am I going blind. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

They should have bezels--I've had a 57 with no heater and one with, and both had bezels on all controls. -

Steve, I just went out and looked at my 56. The light and wiper switches just have the special chrome nuts. The heat and air controls use no bezels or nuts as the tube and cables go in from the front and kind of use the end of the tube as a bezel.
The defrost / fan switch has a bezel that says "FAN" on the top middle "HI" to the right of that and "LOW" to the left of FAN.
The radio has bezels as well and they should have a silver / chrome background and not black. RobComment

Mike, I have a 57 with heater delete and have a question about the nuts/bezels behind the dummy knobs. I was told that mine are not correct and that they should be the same as the nuts/bezels behind the head light knob ( or maybe it was behind the windshield wiper knob ) whereas they are bigger in size than the others. Do you have an insight about this and if so do you know where I can get the correct ones? Thanks, DonComment
