I have a 1971 LT1 coupe that originally had option P02 deluxe wheel covers. The car has rally wheel covers as I purchased it three years ago. In my attempt to obtain some original P02's I bought a total of 6 from two sources via E-bay, but the center caps are not the same! (The rest of the wheel covers appear to be identical.) I have two caps that are more ornate, with an inner ring and outer ring on two levels, about 5/8" high, with a clear lexan cross flags center piece, and tapped holes for attaching screws, GM part 1377173. The other type is only about a 1/8" high disk, a center decal for cross flags emblem and four studs with speed nuts on the back. They have part #3963403 and "3963402 ASSY" with the number crossed out and below it, number 3972794. Does anyone know which type my car should have? What is the other type for? A different year? Any suggestions will be appreciated. I can e-mail pictures if anyone things they could use them to help me out.

Re: RPO P02 deluxe wheel covers
Your PO2s should definetly have the heavy raised center. I have heard that the almost flat raised center is from a 15" Monte Carlo wheel but that is only rumor as far as I know.
Gary
ps, it is amazing at the number of PO2s sold on eBay as Corvette hub caps that don't have the raised center.- Top

Re: RPO P02 deluxe wheel covers
Gary,
I have a reliable source who happens to have 4 of those Chevy Monte Carlo caps on his Corvette hauling enclosed trailer. He has been in our Corvette Club of Michigan about as long as anyone I know that is still alive. He also knows they came from a non-corvette chevy.

Re: RPO P02 deluxe wheel covers
Paul there is about 6 different center caps the Buick Riviera had 2 different types in Chevy you had one for the Impala , Malibu, Chevelle, and Corvette. Some where 14 inch and 15 inch rims. The Impala and Malibu were flat across the Chevelle were raised but not as far as the Corvette or Riviera. The Corvette and Riviera were the same except for the center logo's were different. Also the 68 P01 had a smaller diameter center cap. Paragon is reproducing the center caps if you need them I think for about $50 each and 10% NCRS discount pays for shipping it maybe Trim Parts that are making them. Hope this helps if you need some NOS ones I have 2 for sale. Paul#18046- Top
