    Valve Cover 245 Decals

I'm about ready to place the 245 decals on the re-skinned valve covers for my '58.
I assume the decals need to be immersed in water to free them??? After I place them on the covers, is there anything else I need to do to preserve them from the engine heat. A step-by-step procedure would be helpful. Thanks for the input.
Will print responses so I'll have it in my personal archives.

Do not use warm water, just tap water. After installing just make shure you get all the air bubbles out and your good to go.

Do you know for sure if they go on both valve covers. I have seen them only on the passenger side valve cover at all the car shows. I have one for my drivers side, but I'm afraid to put it on. Can someone let me know ? TIA

          Debra,

The NCRS 1958-1960 Corvette Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide fourth edition states on page 49 " Right-hand valve cover only uses engine horsepower decal...." Wonder why CC sends two with an order?

              Clem,

How about directions and only send one? All about money! That's the business world. They could send one without directions at the same price and when that failed, sucker orders another and that fails. On and on. Of course the vendors have it all figured out and thank God there are a lot of repo parts for sale. Glad there are people like you with a sense of humor and giving the straight talk on this Board.

                  Clem,

That's true with most things. I always read the instructions, but never received any from CC. Just two decals taped inside a cardboard sheet bent in halve and taped. Hot water, cold water, who knows when you receive the item. I can figure out getting all the air bubbles out. I do remote control airplanes. Again, because of people like you, things are made much clearer because of experiences shared.
